The Warrior II
E-mail By Karl Chamberlain Bio/AddressBeneath a canopy of concrete and steel
hardened by determination: man and will
alone on the battlefield stands the one
the one that was left alone to cry
while mothers weep and fathers cry
Before the arena, spectators and crowd
he stands firm; strong and unbow'd
for survival is the only cry
we come here to live
or we come here to die
Sharpened swords
for broken words
when it comes to this
it comes to this
know taste the sweetness
of lady death's kiss
Sometimes in the night
these strong men weep
while shadows steal
and nightmares creep
no broken hearts, no tears, no lies
nothing binding like our own disguise
The Warrior finds within
what each man must know
what you know is for real
what you know is for show
Do you want to believe that I have never cried
wishin’ with all my heart that someone hasn't died
do you want to believe I am nothing but steel
the heart of a man with impenetrable will
Beneath the canopy of concrete and steel
sits a man whose heart is his will
heart beats like thunder, eyes the bluest skies,
the warrior, alone, is he who wears no disguise.
