NIGHTMARES & DEMONS

Your innocent blood washes down on me.

It smashes me with a ton of guilt, and remorse...

I hear you laughing, crying, and your screams for vengeance...

My nightmares and demons control my total being . . .

Like in a very slow dream,

I walk these last stairs.

One foot in front of the other,

All the way to the bitter end...

I cannot tell if I’m awake or dreaming?

My legs tremble, and my knees buckle with fear . . .

Any last words?

. . .

But even if I could speak,

What could I possibly say?

And would it stop everyone's pain

Your screams for vengeance . . .

A hood over my head.

Everything goes dark,

Something tightens around my neck.

My nightmares and demons now possess my being completely . . .

BOOM!!

I only drop a very short ways, and feel no pain.

Yet I still hear your screams for vengeance . . .

My nightmares and demons,

Hold my spiritual being transfixed and aware . . .

Holding me trapped and suspended.

Looking at what was once my physical being,

Hanging at the and of that rope.

My neck separated from my spinal column.

Swinging in slow circles, so peaceful

yet very much dead, and gone . . .

Looking upon my physical being like I'm forced too.

I can't help but wonder -- has everyone's pain cease to be . . .

NO!

I still hear you laughing, crying,

Screaming for vengeance . . .

How could this be - what was the point of it all?

I have paid in full . . .

Your innocent blood washes down upon me

Once again . . .

Now I know my pain, guilt, and remorse will never end.

And my nightmares and demons are my only friends . . .
