Beef Stew, Soup and Rice

E-mail   By Robert Simon Jr. Bio/Address

Life on Death Row is nothing nice.

Roaches invade my cell and so do the mice.

The chow is a poor excuse for the major food groups.

Everything is mixed together – beans and rice or stews and soups.

Some guards are fair and others are bad.

But when it’s time to beat you, they all see a red flag.

We are charged a fee if we need medical help.

When I learned of this, I wept as I slept.

This state is trying to kill me and I can not afford to be sick.

If I had a choice of coming back here or not, which do you think I would pick.

Life on Death Row is nothing nice.

Choose your friends carefully or you could be where I am eating

Beans, Stew, Soup and Rice.
