IS IT ME?

Version  2

E-Mail     By Victor "The OwL" Turner    Bio/Address

Regardless of the fact

We have never met

Is it me?

The reason

Behind your refusal to lend a helping hand?

Possibly our age difference

Maybe the color of my skin?

Or the system of my own beliefs

Maybe completely different from your own?

Is it because you are not myself

Why are you so indifferent to my pain?

Is it me?

And if I were your own child

Would it matter to you then?

Or could you still care just as little

What makes you so cold and uncaring?

Because I am somebody else’s child!

Regardless of your disbelief

Are my tears any the less wet?

My heartache and hurt any less

Simply because you look the other way?

Is it me?

You apparently despise so much

A person you have never known?

Those I daily write soulful pleas

Totally ignore my nightmarish plight!

While you are entirely unaware

And may care even less than they themselves!

To the fact I am illegally imprisoned

Nineteen years past the end of my legal sentence!

Is it me?

Because I am oppressed daily

By your civil servants you pay protection to?

From a person like myself

Suppressed hourly in my struggle for justice?

Do you realize the truth

Of exactly how your tax dollars are spent?

Creating that which you fear the most

Criminals your hard earned money's to cure?

Is it me?

Or is a better question to be asked

Is it you?

Which refuses to admit the system you support

Fails each and every one of us?

You through the creation of future crimes

Myself by the denials of my lawful Rights?

Never being addressed reasonably

Or effective solutions sought?

Is it me?

Or are you being victimized, too?
