The newest issue of the Cell Door Magazine (Volume 5 Issue 1) was published on April 11, 2003. This is the first issue in our 5th year. Without a formal announcement 1,184 people have already paid a visit to the site. 5,277 people read the previous issue (Volume 4 Issue 2). So we are well on our way to surpassing the last issue’s readership.

We are now publishing the magazine on a quarterly basis. So this means we need more material from inmates, ex-cons, and other people who have been affected by the criminal justice system. We encourage one and all to submit articles, short stories, opinions, poetry or pictures of art and crafts.

Naturally we feel that all the material is worth your time to read, but please do take a glance at a few very poignant pieces that might surprise you. Read MO - Prosecutors See Limits to Doubt in Capital Cases to share a judge’s reaction to certain prosecutorial points of view. Read Fear for Life to understand the risks prisoners experience on a daily basis. Finally, please look at Will You Hear Me Now! This is a postmortem statement from a recently executed inmate.

Many thanks go out to Barbara, Rose and Linda who helped with the editing and proofreading for this issue.

We appreciate your interest in the Cell Door Magazine. Please enjoy the articles, poems and stories included in this issue of the Cell Door Magazine.
