HERO HERO

E-Mail   BY BLAKE R. PIRTLE   Bio/Address

Dead so-called heroes covered in American flags.

Some with no arms or legs, the lonely hero's end.

Parades, crowds and cheers welcome home the body bags.

Hungry, diseased and dying children clothed in nothing but rags.

Broken hearted mothers hugging the child's childhood friends.

Dead so-called heroes covered in American flags.

Exploding, deadly planes ignite a nations rage,

our insane president shouts. “This war has just begun!”

Parades, crowds and cheers welcome home the body bags.

A gory painful task counting the ID tags of the dead.

The body count could never be too high for the oil to flow again.

Dead so-called heroes covered in American flags.

The leaders we placed our trust upon willingly dug the graves.

A child bathed in the blood of the dead. Hopes to be a man,

paraded, crowds and cheers welcome home the body bags.

A so-called hero's bullet filled body, doesn't justify the end.

You can cry, hope and pray; but he'll never fight again.

Dead so-called heroes covered in American flags,

parades, crowds and cheers welcome home the body bags.
