Publisher's NOTES

December 2007

Dear Potential Donor,

We send a free copy of the CDM to any inmate that request one. Donations from our 2007 fundraising campaign have made it possible to increased our inmate subscription list by nearly 50%. Plus we will publishing three issues of CDM this year. In addition to the CDM, NDRAN corresponds with over 100 individual inmates helping them with their many needs - friendship, education, networking, case work. Your gift would amplify our outreach.

"Getting out" is the main theme of this issue of the CDM. Whether you "max out", get exonerated or prepare to go before the Parole Board, "getting out" is a big deal. Did you do your time well? Did you acquire the skills and education to make a smooth transition into the free world? We focus on two trends that seem to be heading in a harmful direction:

¨ Educational and rehabilitative programs are more limited and

¨ Many Parole Boards no longer have the authority or give weight to good prison behavior

All of the material in this hard copy is on the Internet plus material that we could not fit in our 20 page ‘zine - http://celldoor.com

Wishing you great success in the New Year,

Laird Carlson, Web Master/Publisher

PS All donations should be made out to NDRAN (National Death Row Assistance Network of CURE), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and are tax deductible.
