ANIMALS AND EVE By Vincent Johnson God made man I do believe And he made squirrels and deers and Eve For man to often be So filled with joyful company A peaceful heart a peaceful mind And to avoid a life unkind.
But when the squirrels and deers and Eve Are taken from the man he grieves Within a vacant heart and mind Where squirrels and doves are hard to find Where tears are what a man could see And fleeing flocks of sanity.
Oh, every man’s an Adam, yes And prison paints a picture best Of how the world would surely be Without the turtles, fish and Eve.
So void and swarmed by stress And aching and dying of loneliness. |
