The Time For A FriendAuthor Unknown |

I’m just
sitting in my cell, Feeling
lonely as hell, When out of
the blue, I start
thinking of you. I think
about what little I know, And wonder
if you are afraid to show, A convict,
such as myself, Anything
personal about yourself. Because you
haven’t responded yet, To the
questions I’ve asked since we met, Which makes
me ask even more, So I can
try to open the door. But even as
I want to ask a question, I have to
heed to a proverb suggestion, “When
building a friendship, always take time, For if you are patient, everything will work out fine.” |
The reason
I want to get to know you, Is so it
won’t look like I’m just trying to use, All the
generosity that has been offered to me, Because I’m
nothing like that and you will see! Everything
that you’ve already done And
anything you do for me in the long run, Has and
will be greatly appreciated without a doubt, For they
are the things that count. But even if
you were to send me nothing, I would
still want to have you on my team, Because I
have few friends of old, So each new
one is a pot of gold. As long as
we have an understanding, Things in
your life are very demanding, And mine is
filled with idle time, Everything will work out just fine! |
