They had their stories together, alibis standing by, their gloves, their masks, enough cash to take off into the night…

Yes, they were four-of-a-kind, smoking aces, divine…

They’d go in all at once, but come out one-at-a-time…

They went over the drills, honing all of their skills, memorized all the locks, practiced breaking the seals…

But who would have known…

They’d sworn through thick and through thin that they’d be brothers, and then some, split it four ways, go their ways, and be all done…But, oh, you must understand, a man is a man, and every chance that he can, he’ll always play his own hand…

But who would have known one from this crew had given into…

They entered by the back door, stayed down, close to the floor…Came in looking for jewels, never bargained for more…

They moved right into the safe, cracked it open with grace…

Sweat beading their brows, wicked smiles on their faces…

They removed all the cash, placed the loot in their bags, now, let’s get out of this place, and let’s get out of this place fast!

But who would have known one from this crew had given into…

So now they’re out in the night, making it swift out of sight…

One suddenly falls from his place in the line…They move out into the field, where, yes, another one’s killed…Two make it safe to the car, but only one takes the wheel…All we see is a flash, he drops the bag from his hand, and as the car pulls away, one’s alone, at last…

Who would have known one from the crew had given into…

Greed… makes the world go around

Greed… brings it tumbling down

Greed… once was lost, now found

Anyone you give trust to can catch the fever.

Greed… knows no loyalties

Greed… respects nobody

Greed… last to stand she’ll be

The fever catches anybody.
