By Bobby Castle Jr.
In this place where I must be
Laughter and joy you’ll rarely see.
Trapped forever, or so it may seem,
Until I escape into my dreams.
In my dreams I leave this place,
Thinking of the good stuff to embrace.
Oh how I wish I could erase
This miserable cell, without a trace.
And in my dreams everything seems right
Searching for those that were in my life.
Such a dream with perfect delight
Until I awaken to this awful sight.
In this world the birds don’t sing,
This solemn world
with doors always slamming.
I sit here waiting very patiently,
But it’s in my dreams I want to be.
