    Christy is a California prisoner sentenced to 16 years to life for the death of her abusive husband. She has served 15 years thus far and has been granted parole on Dec 30th, 2003 by The California Parole Board. She now awaits to see if Governor Swarzeneger will approve her release from prison. In 1992, she testified before lawmakers addressing domestic violence issues. Currently, she has completed the book "Take the Keys and Lock Her Up: Bridging the Gap Between Society and Female Prisoners."  Currently, she works fulltime with the Drug Program at Valley State Prison for Women.  She applied and was accepted as one of 6 "lifers" allowed to work with the ladies assigned to the drug program who have two or less to serve. She was also selected to receive a full scholarship to Ohio University and is majoring in business.  She has already obtained an A.A. degree through the "CLEP" program as well as 2 paralegal degrees.
