My name is Edwin Romero, but my friends call me Eddie. I've been in prison since 1996. I have four children, one girl, and three boys whom I love with every fiber of my heart, mind, and soul. I've managed to maintain a wonderful relationship with my kids throughout my incarceration, which is what has helped me maintained my sanity throughout this pessimistic environment.

Before my incarceration, I was a mechanic for both cars and motorcycles. I would work from time to time in restaurants but my love was always with motorbikes and cars.

A typical day for me on Pennsylvania's death row is to wake up around five in the morning and give thanks to my lord for blessing me with another day. Then I'm let out of my cell to work. I am one of the few prisoners on death row allowed to work amongst the officers and I have been working for the past six years. After 1:00 pm I'm allowed a shower and then I'm locked in my cell for the rest of the evening. While in my cell, I read the Bible write letters, and read and study my case.

Although my life has been extremely dark, I remain optimistic that one day I would see the light again and the truth will emerge from the dark, reuniting roe with my wife and kids which remains till this day, the most brightest part of my dark world.
